Meet Adessa Barker
A certified wellness practitioner passionate about making the world a healthier, happier place through coaching, wellness workshops and education.
I live in Washington, DC and I am wild about God, people, food and laughter. I spend my free time creating and cooking new recipes, hiking, hanging out with friends and family, strolling through the city and reading a good book in the park. I obtained a Bachelor of Science in English and Political Science from Trinity College and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida. I received my certificate of completion from the Mayo Clinic Wellness Coach Training & Certification Program, which is an approved training program through the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching.
I practice wellness coaching based on the strength-based approach, which is scientifically proven and built upon the concepts of Positive Psychology. Through motivational interviewing, clients will discover their intrinsic values and ability to achieve their wellness objectives. I offer a wide range of services including meal planning, stress management, exercise, work life balance, fatigue, relationships, lifestyle and diet changes (including transitioning to a plant based lifestyle), breaking habits such as smoking, overeating or toxic patterns and living naturally (without toxins in the home).
It is my hope that everyone learns how to live life in motion. Life is meant to be enjoyed and by truly understanding what makes us feel good, we are then able to spend more time in a state of happiness and contentment being free to do what we love.
